Collaborating

with a diverse group of designers, government representatives, and community stakeholders, Jan’s work helped foster a unique “voice” for the NE Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd Gateway plaza. She captured stories that allowed community participants to find personal relevance in the project. Jan’s work brought a depth that the design team would not have been able to achieve on their own.

Janice Dilg

is among the most conscientious, dedicated scholars I know. In our work together, she has demonstrated an impressive ability to bring to life significant and interesting details about the people, places, and events that define our past. Jan not only brings to light new information about the past, she also puts it into context to help the rest of us understand why it matters.

The important history

of this park and the surrounding community has been captured through the great work of local historian Janice Dilg.
